Scales and Tails has been grabbing the attention of students for more than 20 years. Whether attending the week-long residencies or the 40-minute presentations, students are encouraged to "think outside the box." Clinical studies have shown that learning is accelerated and knowledge kept longer when education includes both the intellect and the senses and is inquiry-based. Scales & Tails programs are grounded in these principles. They provide hands-on wildlife experiences combined with current facts, in a cooperative learning environment that encourages creative, deductive thinking. Programs can be designed
for specific grade levels or learning abilities, and can run from 30-minute
presentations to a full-week residency.
